If you searched for "Grand Canyon national park tickets" or "Grand Canyon entrance fee," you may be in the wrong place. Grand Canyon West — the one with the glass Skywalk — sits on sovereign Hualapai Tribal Land, not inside the National Park. The South Rim is a separate destination roughly 275 miles from Las Vegas, managed by the NPS, and no NPS pass of any kind is accepted at Grand Canyon West.

No Timed Entry — But Watch Last Admission
Passes are not timed-entry: arrive any time before last admission. In the standard season, last entry is 4:30pm; in summer it extends to 5:30pm. The final Skywalk walk is roughly 30 minutes after last entry. Grand Canyon West runs on Arizona time, which is one hour ahead of Las Vegas clocks from November to mid-March — plan around this, especially in winter.

From 1 January 2026, a $100 per-person surcharge applies to non-US residents aged 16 and over at eleven high-demand national parks, Grand Canyon among them. It sits on top of the standard vehicle fee. The $250 non-resident America the Beautiful pass covers the surcharge for the holder plus three accompanying adults — the maths changes considerably for a group. This surcharge does not apply at Grand Canyon West, which is outside federal jurisdiction. For international visitors, the West Rim's per-person pricing looks much more competitive than it does for a US family.

For a family of four: Grand Canyon West costs roughly $227 all-in regardless of nationality. The National Park South Rim costs $35 total for a US family — a fraction of the price. For an international family of four with two adults aged 16+, the South Rim becomes $35 + $200 surcharge = $235. The gap all but closes. That is genuinely useful information and almost nobody has written it down.
