Then use the free shuttle system: the Village (Blue) Route, the Kaibab/Rim (Orange) Route and the Hermit Road (Red) Route — Hermit Road is closed to private cars from March to November, so for most of the year you ride the shuttle along it.

The Only Lodging at the Canyon Bottom — and a 5% Lottery
Phantom Ranch is booked via lottery: entries go in 15 months prior, with roughly a 5% acceptance rate. You reach it on foot via the Bright Angel or South Kaibab Trail, by mule, or by raft.
